Voyage Media/ Nat Mundel

Jan. 3, 2014: I subscribe to Voyage Media and Nat Mundel emails me.  This subscription was probably around 2012.  Yeah, it’s long, so it’s totally fine if you skim through all of Nat’s email and go straight to my opinion that’s in bold.

Me: I then sent an email telling him how I have two blogs and I have been trying to get The Vertex Fighter produced for the last 5 years.

Me: So basically, this guy was selling this private coaching group session.  He is making money off me.  I know it’s not a scam, but I’m not willing to spend money on this.  After I read this, it doesn’t ignite my passion to get my script produced.

Jul. 11, 2018: I just got an email from him and he said I didn't have permission to repost it on my blog and to remove it. So I did.

I will keep my comments and the blog readers comments on this:

  1. Learn what a scam is. This heavy marketing that you didn't ask for has alarms all over it. Easy payments! Of ONLY hundreds of dollars - EACH MONTH.

  2. Run away from them...actually a movie is produced based on a bestseller, not a recently written one or by an author nobody knows about. Scam is written all over it.

  3. I actually paid these people for a pilot that I had. I paid for an initial consultation that cost me 600.00. What I got - I had a phone consultaton with Nat and had the opportunity to pitch my pilot to a producer. It was all good until Nat started to tell me if I wanted to blah blah blah blah it was going to cost me $$$$$$$, which of course I said thank you and I'll think about it (in my head I was like are you F*CKING kidding me). That was the end of me and them. I would not recommend going through the process. Too expensive for struggling writers.

  5. First. let's be real. If you have a story that you would like to market to a movie production, there are no guarantees. I am going the whole nine yards with Nat Mundel and Voyage media with my head in the clouds, but my feet are on the ground. A Hollywood producer, Robert Mitas, who has quite a resume of credits, took my project. He contracted a screen writer and the three of us worked four months on the script. A new revision will be necessary to better market my movie to my producer's network of production companies. It's been an authentic experience for me and Nat sugarcoats nothing, but if your'e a writer you take an opportunity like this and an investment is necessary. Nobody works for nothing so that comes with any business. No, I'm not a best seller, but there are plenty of films produced based upon great stories that people will want to see o the screen. It's risky business, and that is explained up front. A scam? No way. You invest in an the opportunity, just like you would with any business. Voyage Media is helping me chase my dream. In the big picture, they make very little off me unless we get my story to the screen. Good luck out there to all you nay sayers. You keep wishing upon a star while Voyage and I try to make my dream a reality.

    1. I’m with you - it’s an investment of your own work. People fail to see that the initial fees are reading fees cos who is going to spend hours reading manuscripts for free? Nobody! And people also cannot take rejection and the idea that their work might be crap or may not me what is required at this time. I’m taking a chance with voyager and am signing the contract right now. My work was accepted and now we are adapting my book to a screenplay that voyage will put out to market.

  7. I write the book. I will sell the story, or rights to it, to whomever wishes to produce a movie from it. I am not a movie maker and I'm not spending months and thousands to sell it.

    1. Well good luck with that - you need an agent or someone like Voyage to open those locked doors for you.

They are here to provide a business service, not free advice. Consider what you want from them and make a business decision. I had a very productive one hour chat with one of the producers Regina Lee. She was forthright and made many useful suggestions. I find that phone call highly satisfactory. Quite frankly, not many unknown works get produced. The chat helped me make fundamental changes to my story which makes it a better product in the first place. I actually have experience in the creative and media business, and I have many author friends and professors read my book but no one has given me the kind of comments that Regina gave me. I would say that there are aspects of the service that may need improvement, but from my point of view, the call with the producer was well worth it.

  9. First, I want to thank the Staff, Mimi, Alyssa, and EVERYBODY else in the office, along with My Pitch Producer, Daniel Schneider and of course, Nat Mundel. This was an excellent opportunity and experience. From day one I have received nothing but Love and professional service and Support. Nat, thank you for taking time out to hear my concerns. Our conversation was longer than it was suppose to be. Honestly, Nat made me feel as if I was already in the business. We spoke at length about the Industry from the perspective of Producing, Writing, Screenwriting, being an Author, and again - The Industry as a whole. I learned more within an hour then I would learn from going to any college or University. Every angle was covered and nothing was left out. I only have good words to say about this company and about Nat. I felt as if I was talking to my best friend who was giving me advice to make me better than I could ever be. With the wisdom that Nat have about this business, I can see why he is the BEST of the BEST. I'm going to put my money where Nat's mouth is because I know that he can do wonders. I am very confident that Nat and his professional team of experts can lead me in the right direction and thrust me in the direction of my future. I gathered that Nat sees the potential in me that I haven't been able to find in myself yet. Everything that he has been at this business for as long as he has been, I have to believe that he is THE MASTER at what he does. I just want to cry a that I am so happy and proud to be a part of this family. The Family of VOYAGE MEDIA.

  10. In the meeting I listened in on, I was very impressed of the knowledge, kindly way and forthright honesty of Mr. Mundel. Time is money and the hour meeting was free. Nothing was misleading. Of course this connecting with a producer is going to cost money. And it is extra if you want the producer to have read your story before he tells you if he likes it or if you still have plenty of work to do. I think it is a chance worth taking. To me the $600 is well worth it. I had a teacher and screenplay edited who took my money like it was water. It was way more than $600. Then, this man happened to die besides. He had his secretary make false promise to the class that he would get an actor or actress of our choice to pitch our story in a video on his website. And producers would go on there and watch them. It never came to fruition. Voyage Media isn’t like that. Nat Mundel is trustworthy compared with what I have already gone through. Go Nat!!!!!
